So this isn’t a coffee related post but i wanted to share the video because it does highlight something at the heart of the Pedal & Pour concept.

This is one of the most inspirational videos I’ve seen in a long time, from Boulder in Colorado, they voted to localise their power supply and come off the national grid. In doing this they can reduce there co2 emissions dramatically by switching to natural gas and renewable sources of energy such as solar, wind and water.

Please do watch the video if you have a spare 5 minutes, i promise it’s worth it

The Bike for Pedal & Pour will be completely independent of electricity, ok, so we aren’t an entire city but i’d like to think that every little can help. Our power is provided by Solar Panels and Pedaled Generators with gas powering the espresso machine. We are one of the first to explore this idea, in creating our own electricity. I really hope one day to open a cafe that’s off the national grid too.

Could this be something that could be done in the uk? City by City? … , anyway before I go way off track, Heres the video, enjoy
